I, Ced’s MoFunk Records debut "Interpretations" was a daring departure from the LA label’s trademark modern funk sound. Now, label head XL Middleton steps behind the boards to rework a favorite cut from the album, “Call Me Up,” giving it a vintage repackaging that MoFunksters will find more sonically recognizable, via dusty boogie drums and glimmering electric piano keys. The icing on the cake is the warm analog synth bassline and lead combo plus additional bass plucks courtesy of Josh Solomon, better known to the online world as @thecitypopbassist. The result is a tune you can step to, or perhaps roller skate to, should the opportunity present itself.

The remix has been given the vinyl treatment, with a limited 7” pressing of just 250 copies. Included on the flip is Ced’s remix of “Reflect (I Thought It Was You)” feat. Moniquea, a bouncy rework with a downtempo house rhythm.
